Nikki
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
From the very beginning, Nikki has spent her entire life being in the Athletic and Performance world: participating, coaching, and training. This is where she feels at home. Her love and passion for sport is undeniable, and when it comes to helping athletes in becoming the very best, she is their biggest, most supportive teammate. Her deep knowledge and indomitable drive are what set her up to create change within her Clients. She knows the variables that come along with performance and the nature and influence of external pressures experienced by these athletic performers. This intimate understanding and well-honed experience are the powerful differentiators she brings to her counseling in helping Clients overcome their respective challenges and realize success. Clients have come to Nikki with a wide variety of diagnoses, and she is versed in working with competitive athletes across the spectrum from high school to collegiate to professional.
Nikki’s first professional position was as an Athletic Trainer, furthering her fascination for the human body and the way that it works. Through this work, she realized that she enjoys working with adolescents and young adults during developmental periods of life, as well as with individuals in an athletic setting. Nikki works with her Clients and their goals, but also helps them by understanding the whole picture, what might be affecting them, and why.
Her energy is nothing but optimistic and in a time of hardship, her Clients connect deeply with that optimism and energy, and it resonates through them. Performance in any capacity - sports, work, hobbies, and life in general, can present obstacles that appear too big to overcome. Nikki knows, however, that all Clients can surmount these challenges and find the best version of themselves through their work together. Therapy is all about the relationship and understanding. It’s what Nikki enjoys most about her work. It’s this deep connection that can bring breakthrough change and next-level performance.
Building relationships has always been her passion in life. She is a helper and always wants everyone to be living their best life, which is what led to this Helping Profession. Combining her love and background for the physical aspect of a person, along with the mental aspect of a person, is what she enjoys most. Nikki uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective trauma therapy to assist clients in being able to get past their distressing life experiences that have occurred, no matter when it occurred or what it was, big or small.
Biofeedback is another therapy treatment that Nikki uses to help her clients. This allows the client to train their brain and regulate their nervous system. This technique can be used with any and all individuals who are looking to grow. It can improve their life in many areas and ways, which is the ultimate goal of therapy.
Nikki is passionate about counseling and is looking forward to building more relationships at Seasons Counseling. She is driven and willing to do what it takes for anyone who would like to make positive changes in their life. Having worked with individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses - if the Client and Nikki are both willing to work toward progress, progress will be achieved, and positive life changes will occur.

Nikki, (Therapist)
So grateful and lucky to have found Nikki. From our first - last session Nikki was extremely caring and personable. Nikki helped me grow and move past several particular aspects from my younger years. I continue to think back to our sessions and still use the tools I learned from her daily. Thank you Nikki!

Nikki has changed my life. For the first time ever, someone gave me genuine empathy and broke down a wall that I used to separate myself from everyone else. EMDR might sound scary and hard, but not with Nikki. There are no hidden agendas in our sessions. She relates, sympathizes, and explains in a digestible manner. You leave feeling heard and understood, which is exactly how you want to feel after going through a hard session. I would recommend her a thousand times over again.

Seeing Nikki has been one of the best things that has happened to me. She completely changed my life and made me look at everything differently. I can’t not put into words how much she has helped me, no matter what happens to me I always feel better walking out of her office. I started going once a week but now I go every other week because I learned how to manage my feelings! I have been going for over a year now and have grown so much thanks to her help. She is seriously amazing and I cannot express how thankful I am for everything she has done to help me!

Nikki has helped me break through so many barriers in my life so I can truly live and be authentically myself. I've seen such a positive difference and have become so much more self-aware, which has made it easier to name and tame what I'm going through.

Nikki has been the first "real" therapist I have had - she has helped me evaluate past history to resolve present situations. I have been to easily ten + therapists in the past 15 or so years, and truly gained more about myself in one session than I have with any of the others I worked with. She handles analyzing topics I bring up with grace and directness - it is the perfect combination. Nikki, you are amazing, thank you.

It's an honor and privilege to share about my wonderful counselor. I am blessed to have her in my life for this season. At first, I was wary about talking to a Counselor. She is so caring, loving, friendly, patiently, knowledgeable, experienced & passionate about her work. Ms. Nikki goes above and beyond for her clients.
Also, she always allows me to express my mind and heart with a listening ear. It’s time I wanted to quit and give up, but she’s always encouraging me. Ms. Nikki is an awesome mental health counselor. In addition, she always provides extra resources/information. My travels through my dark road of healing are being enlightened by her! I would recommend anyone to my phenomenal counselor changes lives and make the world a better place to live!

Nikki has truly been an anchor for me throughout a time in my life that I otherwise couldn’t seem to ground myself in. I started seeing her at a very low point and she truly has helped me work out of that time into a more hopeful and intentional headspace. Nikki has always offered sound advice, a listening ear, and even a gentle push here and there when I needed it most. My other experience in therapy was impersonal and at times did more harm than good. To have found someone as wonderful as Nikki has been the greatest relief and I truly couldn’t have began to dig myself out of this hole without her amazing help and guidance.

I have been a client of Nikki Reis's for two years now this month actually and I could not been more grateful for her as a counselor. I have experienced so much growth since I first stepped into the doors of Season Counseling that I say all the time, it seems like I am living life through new eyes and as a new person entirely. When I first started with Nikki, I had super high anxiety and was in an unhealthy relationship, working through codependent tendencies and in meetings, and also just getting used to attending therapy/ counseling for the first time.
I was reading all the personal development books, listening to all the podcasts, and overwhelming myself with self-care tips and tricks. I had tried a couple of other places and counselors in the past but never found the right fit or someone that I really felt comfortable being so open and vulnerable with, as well as sharing such truthful yet not so comfortable or favored parts of myself. I had become well versed in suppressing and repressing things, avoidance, and anyways I just knew I needed someone that would help me dig deeper than I could alone.
After a few months of working with Nikki, I had a really huge repressed memory come back up and I immediately brought it to Nikki asking if we could work through it with EMDR, which she had mentioned to me in the past might be helpful for me. We had talked about EMDR for other narratives and I was unsure of what to think but when this came up, I KNEW this was what I needed to start with and address in this way. Before EMDR and other follow up work we did, I felt so much of the emotion and trauma in my body, and it would immediately bring me to tears, and make breathing really shallow and difficult. It was so hard to talk about and even think of that it would send me into distress immediately.
That trauma was a rape I experienced nine years ago and since working with Nikki I've gone from not remembering, subconsciously protecting myself from the memory, to remembering the memory, forgiving myself, creating new and healthier narratives that remind me that this was not my fault, and has really freed me from so much darkness, anxiety, and depression that I felt in regards to this experience.
I can talk about it and share about it. I have even been involved in events that help support other women who have experienced sexual traumas. I am learning to create healthier boundaries and I'm actually drawing boundaries now which I didn't do so much of before. I no longer hate myself for the way my head is but I validate, nurture, forgive, accept and love myself instead. I know that in life we go through seasons and that the tough seasons may come but they will also pass and even when in them, I know she has helped me to establish the tools and coping mechanisms I need to rise above and into the next season.
This is already super long so I'll end it here but to sum it up, working with Nikki is something I will forever be grateful for and that I have recommended to multiple people already. She has a great approach and energy and is definitely in the right field.

I came to Nikki Reis Munos hopeless, very stuck, anxious, depressed and suffering extremely low self-esteem linked to traumatic early experiences.
From the first session, she helped me process very difficult material and work through my struggles so I could access my inner strengths and apply them readily. Every session produces notable progress in multiple areas of my life: work, love, relationships, health, boundaries, balance.
She uses the combination of treatment paths most likely to be effective for each individual, which for me is primarily EMDR: a precision approach that pays off extremely quickly.
Every challenge I've brought to Nikki receives immediate, effective response. She's exhibited flexibility & capability well beyond any other therapist I've experienced. (I've tried more than two dozen counselors in my 65 years. Nikki is light years beyond all but 3 of them, and easily the equal of all the previous best.)
Every hour with Nikki & is better than 5 years with anyone else. On a 1-10 scale (worst to best) Nikki is a 12!
