Lisa Barnett, M.A., Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

In her own words ...

I am a Central Florida native who loves connecting and working with others to help them reach their goals. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2008, focusing on behavioral sciences. With a desire to further my career in the helping professions, I obtained my master’s degree in Counselor Education from UCF in 2011. I primarily enjoy working with children and adolescents, and have experience working with this population in multiple roles.

I have been trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT skills, Internal Family Systems, and Play Therapy. I am also blessed with a toddler of my own, and understand the challenges and rewards that can come with parenting.

Outside the office I can be found hiking, reading and learning, and of course, bonding with my son. I am also a fan of Drum Corps, music, and love traveling to new places.
