Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

JW is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) providing empathetic, evidence-based care to individuals and families across the lifespan. He offers a warm, non-judgmental space for clients of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences- from everyday stressors to more complex psychological concerns.

JW earned his bachelor’s degree in Ministry with a minor in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and completed his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands in December 2025.

His professional experience includes working one-on-one with children with learning disabilities and exceptional needs, as well as serving as a case manager for individuals deemed criminally incompetent to stand trial. This diverse background informs his person-centered, compassionate approach to care. He has particular interest and experience supporting young men’s issues, while also working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across all genders.

JW integrates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, and Person-Centered Therapy, emphasizing mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience. He is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients can grow, heal, and move toward meaningful change.

Outside of his clinical work, JW enjoys weightlifting, surfing, filmmaking, and gaming, and values time with his wife, Taylor.
