Emily

Mental Health Graduate Intern

A little about Emily: She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Barnard College of Columbia University and completed graduate studies in Human Behavior through Harvard Extension School. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. Prior to entering the counseling profession, Emily spent many years working in business development in New York City. While she enjoyed building relationships and helping others achieve their goals, she always maintained a strong passion for psychology, human behavior, and counseling. Her transition into the mental health field reflects a long-standing desire to support individuals through life's challenges and meaningful personal growth. Today, she brings both her professional experience and genuine empathy to her work with clients.

Drawing from Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches, Emily believes that healing begins within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel comfortable discussing difficult topics while developing practical tools to support growth and healing.  Emily is especially passionate about expanding access to quality mental health care for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and other reproductive life transitions. Outside of counseling, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and children, exercising, traveling, and making memories with family and friends.
